HR-Drew (Grand Slam)

Fargo jumped out to an early lead in the first, with the first four
batters reaching against Willis Roberts. A fourth run was scratched out
in the fourth, with two singles and a sac fly by Robbie Alomar to score
Torii Hunter. JD Drew provided any necessary insurance in the sixth when
he hit a grand slam just after a run scoring single. Colorado strung a
two out double by Vlad Guerrero followed by a Delgado single to score it's
first off Chan Ho Park, and managed a single run in the ninth off Jim
Mecir, with a Greg Zaun double and a Merloni single. Jeff Cirillo was
injured in the fifth inning while running out a grounder to ss.

Thanks to Dave for a very memorable NCCS, and I'm sure he'll get his
revenge on us next year. A transaction will be forthcoming to replace the
injured Wood (15 games occuring in game 6) on the Woodchipper roster for
the IBLCS.

Game 6

FAR 0 0 0 0 1 1 0 0 0

Game 6: With COL facing elimintation for the third straight game, Dave
threw Joe Mays (-2) against Kerry Wood for the Woodshippers. Colorado
scratched out a run in the second inning, but the big story in the early
innings was that as Kerry Wood came out to warm up for the 4th inning, he
developed arm trouble. It is feared that Wood will be out for the
remainder of the playoffs. Todd Ritchie came in to relieve Wood, giving
up two runs in the fifth and again in the seventh. Fargo managed two
runs, the first on a Liefer leadoff home run, and the second scoring on a
Aramis Ramirez dp ball in the sixth, bringing the score at that point to
3-2. Final score was 5-2.
Game 5
With his skilled hand, Varty rolls another playoff RAINOUT. grrr..

Game 5 (on off day)
Greg Maddux vs Steve Sparks
Colorado plays sinner and sinks Fargo 15-5. FAR jumped out to a 3-0 lead on
homers from Jeff Liefer and Torii Hunter, prompting the early use of the bullpen.
Greg Maddux's pitching arm dissolved in the third, as COL put up nine runs
highlighted by a Chris Richard grand slam and Greg Zaun 2 run HR. Vladimir
Guerrero broke his 0 for 19 series drought with a 1B in the same inning.
Win: Bailey
Loss: Maddux

With COL still alive to see another playoff day, NCCS Game 6 is tentatively
scheduled for 2:00 PM EST, Saturday Dec 21. FAR leads the NCCS 3-2.

Game 4
Al Leiter vs. Willis Roberts
COL wins 4-1. Roberts pitched 5 scoreless innings, and it was made to
stand up by relievers Zimmerman and Foulke for the final four frames. COL
jumped on Leiter early, as he got the quick hook. Bret Boone was 2 for 4,
with 3 rbi and a HR. Jason Giambi homered for FAR.
Win: Roberts
Loss: Leiter
